What I liked the most is that Mark is talking about an intense war situation with so much chaos and death around then suddenly the situation is paused and the reader is going through the thoughts that are running through the author's mind a|About the Author|Mark Giaconia served 20 years in the US Army, 15 years in Special Forces. He holds a B.A. in English Lit, and an M.S. in Software Engineering. Mark served in Bosnia, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, and Iraq, and holds two awards for valor from combat action

Quest for War details a 15 year career in Special Operations (the Green Berets) and contains the only firsthand accounts of Operation Viking Hammer, the 2003 battle against Ansar Al Islam in Northern Iraq, the Joint CIA/Green Beret Advanced Force Operations (AFO) prior to the "shock and awe," and Special Operations in the Balkans. A sobering and very human depiction of war.
